WELCOME!!!

Since our retirement several years ago, we have
been on the move almost continuously: sailing Live Now, long distance hiking, and taking extensive road trips (therapy hasn't helped). We established this Blog to share our small adventures with family and friends and, as our aging memories falter, remind ourselves of just how much fun we're having. We hope you enjoy it. Your comments and questions are greatly appreciated. Our reports here are mostly true except in those cases where there is no way for others to verify the actual facts.

190 Feet Below Sea Level

Death Valley was really not anyplace I had ever thought I wanted to go.  And, well, the name doesn't do it any favors.  Didn't know much about it, but assumed it would just be a bunch of, well, nothingness.  Not so!  Arrived here Tuesday evening, May 25, and were amazed at the colors, contours, and varied landscapes.  We got a campsite at Furnace Creek, 190 feet below sea level.  We relaxed, watched a full moon rise, and planned our day for tomorrow.  There is a lot to see here.  Surprise!

Wednesday, May 26, we had quite a busy day.  There is so much to see here and we want to take it all in.  We went to the Visitor Center at Furnace Creek to get our bearings.  We then went to the Harmony Borax Works,  Zabriskie Point, Dante's View, Natural Bridge, Devil's Golf Course, the Artists' Drive and Badwater, where you are 282 feet below sea level.  What a day!
