WELCOME!!!

Since our retirement several years ago, we have
been on the move almost continuously: sailing Live Now, long distance hiking, and taking extensive road trips (therapy hasn't helped). We established this Blog to share our small adventures with family and friends and, as our aging memories falter, remind ourselves of just how much fun we're having. We hope you enjoy it. Your comments and questions are greatly appreciated. Our reports here are mostly true except in those cases where there is no way for others to verify the actual facts.

Shopping in Palm Springs

After our initial desert camping experience at Anza-Borrego, we decide we are up for more, and head towards Joshua Tree National Park.  But, first, we must pass through Palm Springs for the obligatory shopping trip.  We passed the Salton Sea and some beautiful blooming cactus and into Palm Springs for lunch.  We walked the downtown, which takes about a half an hour.  John bought some sandals and I got a hat.  We then found a bookstore and loaded up on reading material.  Since we retired, we have been reading quite a lot, especially when we are on the boat.  This trip is no exception, and we look for used bookstores wherever we go.  In some towns, we will really luck out.  Also, some stores will take your old books in trade.  That will save us some space in the van.  We have brought more books along than clothes.  We spend a very pleasant day in Palm Springs, having also passed through all the other 'upscale' towns along the way, and make our way to Joshua Tree.
